32 - She's given me a home.

I have a home now, for the first time as an adult. It is much more visceral than simply having a dwelling, as wonderful and perfect and full of life that it is. It is that I am home wherever/whenever I'm with her, a sentiment I am stealing directly from Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, via Jorge and Alexa Narvaez. (Warning, there's an overload of cuteness ahead...)

And the original artists, caught here live on KCRW. I just had to share both versions. (I have never seen a more exuberant version of the happy dance than the one performed here by female singer Jade Castrinos. It reminds me of how Robin makes me feel...)

"I feel really good. And really grateful"

Some of the lyrics:
Alabama Arkansas I do Love my Ma and Pa
Not the way that I do Love you

Holy Moly Me oh My you're the apple of my eye
Girl I've never loved one like you

Man o Man your my best friend I scream it to the nothingness
there ain't nothing that I need

Hot and Heavy pumpkin pie
Chocolate candy Jesus Christ
Ain't nothing please me more than you

[Chorus]
Home, Let me come Home
Home is Whenever I'm with you
Home, yes I am Home
Home is wherever I'm with you

Trivia: After breaking up with his girlfriend, moving out of his house with his lifelong friend Nicholas Raymond Kellen, and joining a 12-step program for addiction, Ebert began work on a book about a messianic figure named Edward Sharpe. According to Ebert, Sharpe "was sent down to Earth to kinda heal and save mankind...but he kept getting distracted by girls and falling in love." Ebert later met singer Jade Castrinos outside a downtown Los Angeles cafe.
